• Liberalization of retail prices

  The new decision of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus cancels the markup on majority of the products on retail market except for some 50 products like bread, milk, vegetables, pharmaceuticals, goods for children.

  For the first six month of 2009 the number of public procurement has been decreased by 31.5% with participation of 167 493 companies, of that only 0.9% are foreign companies, mainly from Russia.

22.03.2008 ferrous metallurgy development
2 month results of 2008 showed the upward tendency of metallurgical works by 9.6%, with leaders in terms of production being steel, rolled ferrous metals, metal cord, wire and steel pipes.

11.02.08 MAZ results in 2007
In 2007 Minsk Automobile Plant MAZ has manufactured 1795 units of automotive machinery, including buses, trolleybuses. In 2008 its capacities will amount to 1900 buses.

08.02.08 BelAZ reequipment
Belarusian automobile plant BelAZ, the manufacturer of heavy rock haulers intends to reequip its manufacturing facilities. In 2007 its new products manufacturing accounted for 55.7%. BelAZ takes the third of all rock haulers manufacturers

03.01.08 Minsk Motor Factory has launched Euro-3 truck manufacturing
Owing to procurement of diesel injection systems and other components from Robert Bosch GmbH, Minsk Motor Factory started manufacturing its MAZ trucks with Engines Euro-3 and till 2010 it will start mass production of Euro-4 MAZ Trucks.

22.01.08 Minsk tractor plant increased productivity
Minsk tractor plant has increased the manufacture of tractors by 20% up to 60 thousand tractors in 2007. The main countries of export are Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and Pakistan, Afghanistan, Romania.

04.01.08 Procurement of sawmill equipment expected
Vitebskdrev performs feasibility study for the construction of saw mill, shops on MDF and frame houses manufacture, energy complex and modernization of available manufacturing facilities.

14.02.07 Pilot biodiesel produced in Belarus
Last year Belarus has manufactured the first pilot sample of biodiesel fuel from colza oil that will allow to reduce the use of oil products. Now it is been tested with various motor vehicles and probably soon will be introduced.

09.02.07 New capacities of the Belarusian Automobile Plant BelAZ
BelAZ plant has produced the second specimen of the mine truck with carrying capacity of 320 tons. Among other novelties is the mine truck with capacity of 90 tons. In 2007 the plant shall deliver its trucks to Venezuela, last year the plant has entered the markets of Australia, South African Republic and Iran.
