• Public sales of state property for 11 euro

  State committee on property of Belarus continues inviting bids for state property at starting price of 11 euro. Among the property are both old and unfinished production buildings and facilities of different branches.

• Budgetary recharge

  The goverment of Belarus is going to introduce new temporary export duty on potash chloride to extract excess money from Belaruskaliy that gains huge incomes from sales of the popular product. So, the export duty will amount to appr. 300 US Dollars per ton.

• Mass privatization in Belarus

  Belarus starts mass privatization of more than 500 state-owned enterprises to be completed by 2010, to begin with only 25% of share capital. Among such enterprises are: Minsk motor plant, Optoelectronic systems, Minskagroprommash, Gomselmash, Belarusian Automobile Plant, Vityaz, Agat-System and others.

  UNCTAD recordered Belarus business improvments made last year, among them: favourable taxation for Free Trade Zones and HighTech Park, preferences for business in small towns. The investment policy survey is to be released soon.
